Greater Vancouver is forming two new groups, announced committee chair Frances Hoyd.
One group will plan a "green landscape" around the West 41st Ave. entrance to the expanded JCC.
"You don't have to have a green thumb," laughed Hoyd, "but an interest in flowers and gardens would be an asset."

The second group is comprised of seniors interested in attending theatre productions.
A large group will enable the seniors to get discount prices for theatre, said Hoyd. A side benefit, she added, would be that seniors will have an opportunity to make new friends.
Those interested in either group should call JCC seniors program coordinator Annica Carlsson at 257-5111.

The Hebrew Assistance Association is asking the community for help in gathering information for a commemorative journal.
The journal will be published as part of HAA's tribute to 80 years of free loans to the Jewish community.
Even though the current organization has only been in existence for the past 15 years, there were two previous agencies which provided the foundation for the current organization.
Under chairmanship of Shirley Barnett, committee members involved in the commemorative journal include Bernie Davis, Manny Drucker, Irv Grad, Tzipi Mann, Hershey Porte and Buddy Smith.
Working with Carole Fader, research has already started on the history of Jewish free loans in Vancouver.
