The collections
The Simon Fraser University Library digitized collections include over 130 collections, with more than 1.3 million digitized newspapers, photographs, documents, sound recordings, and other objects.
Many of these collections originated with the Multicultural Canada digitization project, which grew from the conviction that the cultural groups that make up our country have little-known stories that need to be researched and told.
Newspapers
Digitized newspapers make up the largest part of these digitized collections, with more than 950,000 pages from papers such as:
- The Chinese Times, published in Vancouver daily from 1914 to 1992, covering local news and international news with a Chinese or Asian focus.
- The Canadian Jewish Review.
- The Peak, the Simon Fraser University student newspaper.
- The B.C. Saturday Sunset.
- and many more.
