circular walk will ensure keeping him at home. The Dragon will walk around the path, get lost and return to the door of the house.
A good way to confuse the Dragon is to have a small pond in the yard. The pond should have plants of various heights growing about it.
A hillside house with a view is not a proper home for Chinese because the Dragon of Happiness could walk right out the front door and fall down the hill taking the family's prosperity with it.
The hillside property can be made into a suitable Chinese home, but it requires a lot of money.
First, there must be a wall built across the front of the property and the wall must be sufficiently high to be plainly seen from the front door or front lanai of the house.
The entrance to hillside property must be carefully designed so that it does not run directly down hill from the main entrance.
It should be at one side of the property where it is not seen from within the house. If the entrance has to be built in front of the main door, the entrance way should be curved or in a circle.
Proper planning allows for a tree, pond and potted plants to be placed in front of the main door. A well planned house has the front door at one side and not opening onto the slope.
The view house on a hillside must never be built beside a running stream, otherwise the family fortune goes down hill.
There are certain types of Chinese people who live on a steep hillside, beside a forest and a running stream. These are the artists and esthetics, not family people.

Chinese call such types "monkish" in nature, because they do not seek the things of this world. They seek release from all worldly desires. They purposely withdraw from life to meditate.
In China, the monk lives on boiled cabbage, tea and rice. The floating clouds over hilltop homes carry away worldly desires.
The rushing stream carries away the Dragon of Happiness and helps attain perfection. The forests set the mood for meditation.
The man who wants a happy family life will not build high on the mountainside where the Dragon can easily escape.
