Mrs. Chen like her husband is now a Seventh Day Adventist.
After she was advised by Mrs. Lawrence Jasper, chairman of the Massachusetts' Mothers Committee of her honor, Mrs. Chen said: "I give all the glory to God." She had been placed in nomination by the Campus Women's Club at Atlantic Union College.
One son, Dr. Philip Chen Jr, is an assistant professor at the University ol Rochester (New York) Medical School. He was graduated from Clark University at 17, took his doctorate at Rochester at 21, and was a National Science Foundation post doctoral fellow, studying in Denmark,
The youngest son, Samuel M. Chen, graduated with highest honors at 17 from Atlantic Union College. He will be 21 when he graduates from Loma Linda University Medical School, California in June 1965.
Another son, Dr. John E. Chen, is ophthalmology resident at the United States Public Health Service Hospital in San Francisco. He graduated from Atlantic Union and took his medical degree from Loma Linda.
The fourth son, George D. Chen, a graduate of Atlantic Union, will re-reive his MD degree form Loma Linda next June.
Her daughters are Mrs. Frank (Helen D.) Chung of Caucarillo, Calif., and Mrs. Ray (Ruth A.) Soot of Loma Linda, Calif. Mrs. Seet graduated with highest honors from Walla Walla College, in Washington, holds a master's degree in music (organ) from Boston
Mrs. Chen, who now has seven grandchildren, used her first earnings as an elementary school teacher in Peking to finance studies in the United States, and is a deaconess in the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
