� HEBREW Ladies Sick Benefit Society: Mesdames G. Frishling and B. Goldenberg were hostesses at a board and officers meeting at Chevra Shass Synagogue. Mrs. J. Turowetz presided. At the head table were: Mesdames D. Boyer, R. Dolman, and B. Ruthen. Others present were: Mesdames Z. Flomen, S. Silverman, M. Moses, N.Pessin, J. Superstein, J. Niah, R. Zisles, M. Mabo, I. Moses, BE. 7090, were named to. convene a dance at Bnai Jacob Synagogue for November 3. Mrs. J. Nish won the raffle; and $9 was raised. Mrs. J. Turowetz thanked the hostesses. At a meeting, Mesdames R. Davis, B. Rose-man and A. Sinister were hostesses; and Mrs. A. Fleming won the raffle. $62.55 was raised. The Purim meeting raised $165. � TIFERETH ISRAEL Congregation Junior Ladies Auxiliary: Mrs. Ben. Plotnick, president, was chairman at a business meeting and reported on the fashion show and miniature bazaar. Mrs. Lou. Plot-nick won the raffle. Mrs. J. Plot-nick, social chairman, was in charge of refreshments. A business meeting early in May will plan a rummage sale to be held later in the month; date and conveners' names to be announced.

Moshe Yuval, con-sul-in-charge of the Israeli consulate-general in Montreal, spoke, being introduced by Miss Bertha Starer, and thanked by Jack Rishi-koff, president. Mr. Yuval spoke of the blending characteristics that will eventually come to make up an Israeli culture, formed of Jews from over sixty countries; and predicted that once the heavy influx of immigration stops, the country's unification will be completed quickly.
