two tablespoons cold water one cup sugar

baking powder one cup all-purpose flour
<� Beat eggs till light and fluffy, add sugar gradually, and blend well. Add cold water, then the flour and baking powder which have been sifted together twice. Pour batter in a large, greased cookie sheet, lined with waxed paper, and bake at 350 degrees for fifteen minutes. When done remove from oven and let cool for ten minutes. Remove from waxed paper and roll in u clean dump kitchen towel. Unroll cr.ri fill with Jam when ready to serve. Roll up and sprinkle v*v- icing sugar.

Melt the chocolate and the butter,' then cool. Mix with the eggs and the salt. Add sifted sugar gradually, beating until these ingredients are light and creamy. Add vanilla. Sift and add the flour. Beat batter until smooth. Fold ;in the nutmecrts. Line a nine-inch.by thirteen-inch pan with heavy wax paper. Pour in the batter. Bake in a moderate oven, 325 degrees for about thirty minutes. When cold, cut Into oblong squares. Makes forty-eight one-inch by two-inch bars.

Winnipeg-Bom Actress Had Lively Theatrical Career
Anne Gerlette, actress, producer, director, and dramatic teacher and coach," died in New York in University Hospital after a long illness. Her age was 45. She resided at 39% Washington Square South. She was the wife of George Voskovec, actor and playwright. In private life her -name was Araie�Goldstein�before--her marriage.
Miss Gerlette was bom in Winnipeg, Man. Early in her career as an actress she was seen in productions at the Davenport and Cherry Lane Theatres. On Broadway she appeared in "Crime and Punishment* in 1935. "TheBridal Crown" in and "A Case of
Youth" in 1940.
After studying in New York with the late Andrius Jilinsky, formerly of the Moscow Art Theatre, she became an assistant instructor under him and his wife, Vera Soloviova, says the New York Times.. Ljater. Miss Gerlette. formed and directed for several years her own acting group, the New York Players. She became in 1944 the first executive secretary of the new Equity Library Theatre. With that organisation she organized and supervised some eighty productions in New York.

In 1948, after the Communist seizure of Czechoslovakia, she went with her husband to Paris. Miss Gerlette founded the American Theatre of Paris in 1949' It operated for two seasons. In 1951 she resumed her teaching in New York.
Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Victoria and Georgeanne; her mother, Mrs. Rose Goldstein; two half-brothers and a half-sister.
