Mr. Aaronson was master of ceremonies. A white and blue bar-mitzvah cake and Centerpieces of gold-coloured, yellow, and .white chrysanthemums trimmed the table.

guests at an evening at their home to celebrate the engagement of their daughter, Miss Mona � Bell, to Marvin Chankowsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Chankowsky, 4687 La Peltrie Street. A pink and white tiered cake centered the table. Mr. and Mrs. Bell were also hosts to thirty-five guests at a dinner party at Piazza Tomasso to celebrate the engagement. Mrs. Bell wore a black organza gown, made with a full skirt; and a white feather hat. Mrs. Chankowsky wore a black silk sheath, and a white feather hat. Mrs. Esther Gross, great-grandmother of the bride-elect, wore a blue silk dress; and a white felt hat. Pink and white chrysanthemums and carnations were arranged' for table decoration.
Mrs. Celia Jacobs, 5734 Trans Island Avenue, celebrated the bar-mitzvah of her son, Irving Lionel, who was called to the Reading of the Law at Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue. He is the son of the late Jacob Jacobs; brother of Miss Ghana Jacobs; and Ma Ik a, his twin sister; grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Baltin, 5734 Trans Island Avenue. A luncheon took place at the Synagogue. Mrs. Jacobs wore a black silk dress, made with a V-neckline cut lower at the back; three-quarter-length sleeves; and draped skirt; with a corsage of red carnations. Mrs. David�Baltin, grandmother^"was~ in a navy-blue lace dress with a V-neckline, long sleeves, and full skirt; and a corsage of~red~ carnations. Miss Ghana Jacobs was in an ice-blue satin dress, made with a round neckline, cape - sleeves, and^lraped�skk4i�Malka wore a sand-coloured shirtmaker dress with a leopard-skin belt. Seated at the head table with the above were: Dr. Solomon Frank, Rabbi; Reverend G. Schacter, Irving7s teacher; and Mr. and _Mrs. Harry__Cajglanf__uncle and aunt. The T>ar-mitzvah boy gave a speech. Rabbi Frank asked a blessing over the challah. A blue and white bar-mitzvah cake and fruit bowls adorned the tables.
Mr* and Mrs. Max Rolbin, 4814 Harvard Avenue, celebrated the bar-mitzvah of their son, Stephen Harvey, who was called to the Reading of the Law, at Shaare Zion Synagogue. He is the brother of Sandra, aged ten and one-half years; and Elaine, six; grandson of Mrs. Mascha Halpern, 4609 Melrose Avenue; and of Mrs. Molly Rolbin, 3065 Brighton Avenue. Mrs. Lazarus, grandmother, wore a brocaded blue and black print dress, made with a round neckline, three-quarter-length sleeves, and a draped skirt; and had a corsage of yellow orchids. Seated at the head table with the family members were: Mr. and Mrs. Max Lazarus, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ru-benstein; Mrs. Henry Shapiro, Mrs. Jack Rubenstein, and Maurice Lazarus; uncles and aunts. The bar-mitzvah boy gave a speech. P. Golub, his teacher, asked a blessing over the challah. A blue and white bar-mitzvah cake, blue and white chrysanthemums, and yellow roses trimmed the table. Here for the event were: Mr. and Mrs. .Samuel Moscovitch, and Allen and Enid, uncle and aunt; and Mrs. Abe Andras, all of Ottawa, Ont.; Maurice Lazarus, of Newark, N. J.; and Mrs. David Newman, of Toronto, Ont. Mr. Lazarus, grandfather, was unable to be present.
