Shaffer, 2720 Soissons Avenue, entertained fifty-five guests at a luncheon at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, to celebrate the sixteenth birthday of her daughter, Brenda; sister of Mrs. Allan Tan-nenbaum (Gloria), 6275 North-crest Place; Miss Elaine Shaffer, and Vivian, aged nine years; granddaughter of Louis Shaffer, 125 Mount Royal Avenue West, and the late Mrs. Bertha Shaffer; and of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. Zitner. Mrs. Shaffer was in a black silk sheath which had a round neckline; and three-quarter-length sleeves; and her corsage was of white carnations. Brenda wore a mauve wool dress; and had a bouquet of white baby orchids. A white and pink birthday cake was arranged with blue and white carnations.
