Friday Evening Lecture Service*
The Friday evening lecture service series will re-open on Friday evening, November 2, at 8.15, when Rabbi Brickner will speak on "The Genesis of Religion and the
Etodus of Superstition" These lectures are open to the general as well as all the entire Jewish community, and a special invitation ia extended to the young people to attend. The Friday evening services are greatly enhanced by music of the choir and instrumental selections given by artists. Sabbath Morning Services
The first regular Sabbath morning service will be held on Saturday, November 3, at 10.15. For Sabbath morning services Rabbi Brickner is arranging a series of sermons on the Bible stories and their modern interpretation, in which he throws an entirely new light on the meaning and modern application of the ethical truths implied in Biblical stories for our own time.
Musicale
The Junior Society of the Collegiate Department of the Holy Blossom Congregation, composed of young people between the ages of sixteen and nineteen years, is arranging a musical evening to be held on Sunday evening, November 4, at 8 p.m., in the Synagogue Chambers, 115 Bond Street. The programme consists of the following artists: At the piano, Arthur Singer, Miss Florence Singer; vocal selections, Miss Lillian Wecksler; violin, Maurice Solway; elocution, Miss Gertrude Bell. The Junior Society extends a cordial invitation to the members of the congregation, their families and all interested in good music. Admission free.
Hebrew Glasses
The parents of children attending the Sabbath SchoolB of the Holy Blossom Congregation are again notified of the special classes in Hebrew Vrhich meet in the Synagogue Chambers on Wednesday afternoons from 4.30 to 5.45. Children attending the Sabbath Schools who do not receive Hebrew instruction from private teachers are^ urged to attend these classes, since no Hebrew is taught on Sunday morning

On Monday evening, October 29, Rabbi Brickner was the guest of the students of the Faculty of Trinity College, Toronto. He addressed the gathering on the question of the "Legacy of the Church from Judaism." Rabbi Brickner pointed out that much of the church organization and ritual, as well as much of its theology is directly borrowed and based on Jewish teaching and synagogue organization.

Typewriting ia the /roost popular class, two extra evenings being given to it and another one to be added next week. There is a waiting list for dressmaking and another evening may nave to be added.
The Club was closed on Saturday evening last, owing to the death of Mrs. Jacobs, but will reopen this week for the members and their boy friends. About 150 attend these social evenings,
The membership is closed for the present at the Tuesday afternoon sewing school; there are 250 registered already for it and all the rooms are crowdea, besides the halls on the second and third floors. The new samples are a joy to all the children.
The athletic class, on Thursday evening at the Orde School is under tie direction of Mr. Harry Freeman.
There is a new class in basketball and volleyball at the Orde school on Monday afttrnoon, for school girls and classes in folk dancing, Monday, Wednesday afternoon and Tuesday evening.
350 members have already registered for the evening classes.
On Sunday evening, November the 4th, the first of the series of health pictures will be given, with Dr. Middle-ton the speaker. This will be followed by an educational film. Miss Eva Cross will sing.

OUTSTANDING MUSICAL EVENT
The concert of the Toronto Benxman Chorus, with Josef Winogradoff as the soloist, on Tuesday, November 6, is surely the outstanding Jewish musical event. This concert takes place at the Standard, one of the most comfortable theatres in the city. Book your seats early. A very good programme has been prepared by the chorus, the feature of which will be "Here by Babylon's Waves," by Guno.

T^is Saturday, November 3, at 10.45, Rabbi Siegel will deliver a sermon on the section of the week, Genesis, chap. XIII, verse 1; chap, xxv, verse 18. Sunday School
Sunday, November 4, will be the last day for registering at the Goel Tzedek Sunday School. All former pupils as well as newcomers should be on hand at 10 o'clock when they will be registered. The opening of the school will take place at 11 o'clock. Rabbi Siegel will introduce the Sunday School board and teachers. There will be an assembly after that and dismissal will take place at 12 o'clock.
