"The regular meeting of the Progress League, which was to take place on November 11 wjll be postponed until November 25.
Courjcil of Jewiih Women
The Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday evening, November 6, in the United Hebrew Building, with a large attendance. Owing to the resignation of Miss Lillian Goldstein, who is leaving Hamilton, nomination of office for secretary was taken, Mrs. M. Beube was duly elected and Mrs. B. Goidblatt was elected as first- vice-president, the office which Mrs, Beube vacated to accept the secretaryship. Miss Lillian Goldstein was presented by Mrs. M." Levy with a parse of gold, as a mark of esteem and appreciation from the ladies of the community. Miss Goldstein, who is leaving Hamilton shortly has been the secretary of the United Hebrew AaaociaBon for over seven years. In addition fo this position she has fiikd the office of secretary to the Council of Jewish Women lor the local Zionist Society, and is president of the Hadaasah Chapter.
Mrs. M. Levy was the recipient of a beautiful travelling case, the gift of the members of the CounciL Mrs. Levy is - leaving for St. Louis, as delegate to the convention of the Council of Jewish Women.
Miss Selma Davis gave a reading, and Miss Sara Peartstein a vocaJ -solo. Refreshments wtre served. Hostesses were Mesdames A. Goldberg, Rose Levy, S. Needle aad S. Freshman.

The regular meeting of above Society was held on Sunday afternoon, November 4.
Beth Jacob Social Circle The regular meeting of the B.J.SX. was held in the club rooms on Sunday evening, November 4. Plans for the forthcoming visit of Mr. N. W. Jacobs, Montreal, were completed. A joint meeting of all the Jewish congregations and societies was held last evening at the Beth Jacob Synagogue, and it wak decided to hold a bazaar, the proceeds going to the United Hebrew Charities^ of which J, Goidblatt is presidenti The bazaar will take place on December 5th in the Arcade Rose Room. Further notice of all arrangements and committees will be announced through the press. Another meeting will take place on Sunday, in the building of the United Hebrew Charities, SS Vine' Street. Mrs. *H. Frieman presided at the meeting.

evening was spent in games and dancing.
