Canadian Jewry can do nothing better than to emulate the noble humanitarian example set them by their own government, which waived the existing immigration rules to give these people without a country a home.
But even though 5,000 be admitted to Canada, it will be like a drop in the bucket, when we bear in mind the thousands of our homeless brethren, who are now homeless refugees. To patriate these, our people without a country, should become the concern of the Jews of the world. We look with great hopes to our brethren in the United States to raise the wherewithal now that their country is closed. With money and it will require much money thousands of Jews could be provided for in Palestine; others could be sent to South American countries. Two things are essential, to find the countries that will accept these homeless wanderers, and money to transport them and see that they do not become a public charge on the general community. In this work of finding countries for these people the League of Nations can and should be extremely helpful. These homeless Jews are fit subjects of the League in the interim that they are men without a country. But the raising of money is the task of the world Jewry.

journey to Palestine because they are not in possession of the necessary documents. The Austrian government at first thought of repatriating many of them, but on the intervention of the Palestine Emigration Office in Vienna, which gave certain guarantees that they would not stay long in Austria, they have been given permission to remain temporarily.
Most of them are without means, and as the Zionist Organization has no funds available for maintaining them during their stay in Vienna, a private committee has been formed to raise funds for their maintenance until they obtain their documents, and to provide them with travelling costs where necessary.
