That a new religion is being formed in Russia now, just as Christianity superseded paganism, is the striking observation made upon his return from a seven months1 sojourn in Europe by Dr. Lewis Browne, author of I'This Believing World," who lectured Tuesday, November 1, on "This Believing world," under the auspices of the Y.M.H.A. Forura.
Dr. Browne says that already Karl Marx is the Moses and Lenin the Christ of the new religion, for communism is not so much a political theory as it is a cult. It was interesting, he says, to note the way the change is being brought about in the country which has a government opposed to religion and yet is establishing, unintentionally, another religion.
