Zlotnik, exCiiive director of the Zionist Organization of Canada, introduced Dr. Mossinson. Others at the head table included: Dr. Mossinson, A. Levin, R. A. Darwin, M. Gelber, of Toronto; Joseph Fineberg, Louis Fitch, Dr. H'. Abramowitz, S. Kellert, Marcus M. Sperber, Allan Bronfman, S. Bronfman, L. Phillips, J. S. Leo, Dr. A. 0. Freedman, Dr. S. Greenspoon, Dr. Lauterman, Henry Weinfield and Leon Goldman. M. Gelber, of Toronto, one of the vice-presidents of the Zionist organization of Canada, spoke. Dr. Mossinson thanked Canadian Jewry for their undertaking to redeem such an historic part of the fertile Plain of Sharon in Palestine for the Jewish National Fund. The Palestinian scholar, touching on the education work in Palestine, declared that the Hebrew educational system was the forepost of civilization in the East. Until now the Palestinians had looked upon the European as one who came only for commercial reasons or for the purpose of religious conversions, but with the coming of the Jewish pioneers, the Palestinians had realized that the Jews had come to stay and to build. "We shall build Palestine to be the link between the East and the West, so that the Orient and the Occident will hold hands with brotherly understanding and trust," Dr. Mossinson maintained.
