Complimenting Mrs. Charles Aron-owitz (nee Mary Pastinsky) whose marriage took place recently, Mrs. M. Foulks entertained at a linen shower on Wednesday afternoon. Thirty guests were invited for bridge and tea, and presented the guest of honor with beautiful gifts.
Mr. Sydney Evans and Mr. Milton Share left early this -week for Edmonton where they will resiune their studies at the University of Alberta.

After spending a few weeks in California Mr. and Mrs. E. Wamick returned home last week.
On Tuesday, Mrs. A. Rome and her daughter, Helen, will leave for California where they will visit with friends and relatives for about two months.

PIONEERS ELECT OFFICERS
The Pioneer Women's Organization has elected its officers for the coming season at a meeting at the home of Mrs. M. Archeck.
' Mrs. Archeck, the president of the organization, has been re-elected. A new executive was chosen to work with her, and plans for the coming year Were discussed at the meeting.
Mrs. Archeck wishes to thank the members of the past executive, who co-operated with her during the last year, and the members of the organization, as well as the public at large, for their support of the noble work of the Chalutzoth.
The Pioneers extend their sincere good wishes to the whole community for the New Year.

', At last the date of the long-awaited address of Rabbi J. L. Zlotnick, in which he will inform all Zionists of /his experiences at the Congress at .Lucerne, has been annoimced by the ; Zionist organizations. The information which ovu: rabbi will impart, the enthusiasm and capability with which he will undoubtedly deliver his message, will be of inestimable value to all. Remember the date, October 13, and keep it open for the meeting of all Zionist groups in the city.
The date of the Young Judaean Oratorical finals has been set for October 20. Those who will participate in this oratorical meet are Leon Cook, Gertrude Fouks, Victor Freeman, Harold Rome, Aser Rothstein Sr., and Jim White.
The next dramatic meeting of the Young Judaeans will be held at the home of Lily Pastinsky, dramatic chairman, on October 9th. All those interested in dramatics are urged to attend, as "actors" are urgently needed.
' The next' Young Judaean Tiieeting will take place on October 16th, in the form of pep meeting. Little or no business will be discussed, and, in its place, two plays, results of the Dramatic Club's most strenuous efforts, will be presented. The evening v.dll conclude with dancing and refreshments.

Engagement. Mr. and Mrs. E. Bean announce the engagement of their youngest daughter, Esther, to Mr. Gerald Gor-osh, D.S.C., of Calgary, formerly of Victoria and Vancouver. Miss Bean was a student at the University of B. C. and has lived in Seattle for some time, where she holds a position with the Social Service Department of the State of Washington.
