Jewish athletes had a field day in boxing, swimming, wrestling and track and field events in many' parts of the country last week, according to reports received here. Competing in the regional championships in the Middle West New England and the East, Jewish Athletes scored many points and won
a number of titles.

Breaking the record he set in last year's meet, Abt Rosenkratz of Michigan State Normal won the 880 yard run in the fast time of 1 minute 55 seconds in the annual Central Intercollegiate indoor track and field championships. The old record was 1:55.1.

Sam Stoller, young speed merchant of the University of Michi-an, this week held the distinction f tying the world's record for the 0 yard sprint, by speeding the istance in 6.1 seconds to win the mi final heat in the annual in-oor track and field championships Chicago. He scored a second lace in the final when he was osed out by Greive of Illinois. Irving Rubow of the University f Wisconsin took second place by eaving the 16 pound shot for a istance of 46 feet, 5^ inches, 'enry Schneiderman was fourth ith a toss of 44 feet.
Three leading Jewish tennis players almost made a clean sweep of the National Indoor Championships in New York City. Leonard Hartman reached the finals in the men's singles tourney. Norma Tau-bele, reached the finals in the women's singles tourney and Millicent Hirsch was beaten in the finals of the women's doubles. Marcus Cohn, who won the 135 pound class sub-novice title in the New York Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament wore the colors of the Knights of Columbus. Manhattan College, the only team in New York that is not boycotting the Olympic basketball tryouts, recently received copies of "The Jews in Sport" a new history of Jewish Athletic achievement. Friends of Hank Greenberg are beginning to worry over his stubbornness in refusing to sign a contract. A German wrestling expert has announced that henceforth he will teach German-jitsu instead of ju-jitsu.

Without losing a single match, 17 year old Ruth Aarons of New York, this week won the world's women's Ping Pong championship by eliminating Miss Kretzbach of Germany in the final round.

Meriboias:
The Meriboias wound up their regular league schedule last Monday afternoon at La Salle with Nell Matoflf's fast-stepping pin crashers taking three from Sue Lechtzier's absentees and copping the second half by a wide margin. Ann Goldbloom's trundlers finished in second position although dropping the odd game to Jeanette Chess' stalwarts, and Etta Koenigs-berg's pin artists finished in the third slot by taking a couple from Pearl Herman's champs.
Jeanette Chess copped individual honors both ways with a series of 506 and a string of 217.
