D.M.Z. News
Imagine if you can a hardy youth striding along a winding, dusty road. There are many trials and tribulations to be met, but this optimistic being surmounts each difficulty and forges onto a distant goal. Having reached a milestone, he pauses to look around. That youth is the club D.M. Z. and the road is the narrow road of life beset by prejudice, intolerance and poverty. The shining milestone implies that the club D.M.Z. is six months old and that this club is so firmly entrenched in the Jewish Community as the milestone is embedded in the hard earth.
It is appropriate then to introduce to you once more, the executive responsible for the growth of DM.Z.
President Harry Aqua: Five feet of dynamic energy, founder of D.M.Z,, employing his ftiany years of previous experience with other clubs in mapping out the tomorrow's route of D.M.Z.
Vice-President Robert Rosen: "Bob" is also our Membership Director and Phoning Committee, thus being responsible for the high attendance at clum functions. Secretary Dorothy Zivot: Dorothy

"I see npw," wrote Heinrich Heine in a.burst of chauvinism, "that the Greeks were merely handsome striplings. The Jews, however, have always been men, strenuous and full of power, not only at that time, but even at the present day, in spite of eighteen hundred years of persecution and misery. I have since then learned to value them better, and if every kind of pride of birth were not a foolish • contradiction in a champion of revolution and democratic principles, the writer of these pages might be proud that his ancestors belonged to the noble house of Israel, that he is a descendant of those martyrs who have given to the world one God and a moral law, and have fought and suffered in all the battlefields of thought."

the odd fly with a tennis racquet. Then Celia Wolman flashed past me. What a cute little dress she had on. j It was of many colors. Very • fascin-I a ting. Amongst the older people rol-! licking on the sands, Mrs, Hornstein ! and her party seemed to be having a gay old time of it. .
An interesting book has just arrived in the Bulletin office from Seattle. It was edited by the pupils of the Herzl High School, and dedicated to their principal, Mr. David Rome. You will remember David, he was editor of the Bulletin for a time. On his last visit to Vancouver he called on me. He informed me then that he likes Seattle vei-y much. Everybody down there was giving him splendid co-operation. According to our present report David is very popular with both old and young. Good luck David.
And here is a night cap. A B. B. Junior Auxiliary meeting was held in the Banquet Hall at the Community Centre. Tea was being served. Suddenly there v/as a crashing sound, cups and saucers tumbled to the floor. Blood-curdling screams rent the air. Noise emanated from the room indicating that panic had seized the oeeupants. I happened to be in the Bulletin office at the time. Grasping a heavy stick I made my way to the Banquet Hall, thinking some thug or person with murderous intent had created the commotion. A unique scene met my gaze. All the girls were standing up on chairs, tables, and anything that was off the ground. Most of them had their skirts pulled close around their legs. They were all tongue-tied. At last Ida Kemp managed to blurt out "A mouse ran along the floor." Believe me a herd of elephants could not have created more confusion.-
