Oolorful Russian Cabaret March 13 For Aid To Russia
Into the life of Vancouver is growing a greater and keener concept of what aid to besieged countries mean to a suffering people. Convening of Bazaars, Recitals and Cabarets are receiving untiring efforts from many enthusiastic workers.
Although results of the Bazaar, held recently at the White Rose Ballroom have not been completed, there is a possibility that over $3000 will be given to the Canadian Red Cross for Medical Aid to Russia.
This Friday evening at the Hotel Georgia a Piano Recital will be given by Madam Clare Sumner and Phyllis Cook.

The Annual Spring Luncheon of the ^i'sterhooa of Congregation Beth Israel will take place at the Jewish Community Centre at 1:00 o'clock, Wednesday, March 18th.
This outstanding event of the year is further heightened by Mrs. H. H. Norman, recently returned from Japan, who will speak on "My Life in Japan."
Following the meeting will be a fine musical programme by two outstanding and popular members of the comniunity, Mr. Joseph Marks, violinist and Mrs. Sam Nagler, pianist.

The bride wore a two-piece costume'dress ih blue sheer wool, complemented by a tiny navy hat, with a shoulder-length veil, navy shoes and white gloves. Her corsage was of gardenias surrounded by pink rosebuds. ; ^The bride Was attended by her sister, Miss Grace Cohen, who wore a gold colored dress, the lines of which were accented by ruchings of the same shade. . In her hair was a dainty Wreath of daffodils and mauve stock.
Supporting the groom was Mr. Phil Cohen of Seattle. .
llie mother of the bride chose a smart frock of rosebeige for the occasion and wore a corsage of carnations and fern.
The soloist was Miss Ethel Waterman.

For the wedding trip to Victoria the bride donned a tweed coat collared with luxurious fox. The young couple will take up residence at 1703 32nd Ave., Seattle. To augment the Youth Allyah fund a social will be held at the home of Mrs. H. Paghln, 806 W. 19th Ave., on Saturday evening, March 7th. A cordial invitation is extended to all.
Mrs. I. W. Chess will be a hostess at her home on Wednesday afternoon, March 25th, at a tea, the proceeds of which will also go to the Youth Aliyah fund. It is hoped that this affair will be well attended.
In the near future the Lillian Frei-nian Chapter of Hadassah will be holding a Rummage Sale. Members are iu"ged to have their parcels ready, which may include costume jewelry, hats, shoes, bags and any other articles of discarded clothing, things about the house that are of no use— in fact anything.
The drawing for the raffle recently held took place at the last meeting and the winners were: The comforter, Mrs. H. The engagement of Miss Lorraine Alexander of Tacoma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Alexander and Mr. Samuel Pelman of Los Angeles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Pelman of Vancouver, B.C., was announced ait a luncheon held recently in Tacoma.
The popular young bride-elect attended the University of Washington, Where her sorority is Alpha Epsilon iPhi, and her fiance is a graduate of 'the Western College of Pharmacy of Vancouver.

In connection with the Victory Loan campaign, Rabbi Glatt will deliver a timely sermon of great interest this Friday evening, entitled "Remember Pearl Harbour." An invitation to attend this and other Friday evening services has been extended to the soldiers of the Jewish faith of Vancouver and New Westminster barracks.
Saturday morning services at 9:00 a.m. as usual. The Rabbi will preach. Junior Congregation Services begin promptly at 9:45 a.m. '
There will be no Sunday School classes this Sunday, but there will be classes on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. A Purim play will be held promptly at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, March 8, at the Jewish Community Centre.
