IZSDORE nSCHLER, a member of the 20-40 Club at the Vancouver Jewish Community Centre, was chosen as delegate from the Western States Jewish Youth Council to attend the national Jewish Youth Conference at Camp Cejwin, Port Jervis N.Y. This youth conference, sponsored . by the National Jewish Welfare Board, is also a part of the leadership institute for group workers being attended by Boris Steiman, Jewish Centre group worker here.
Rosh Hashona Services At Schara Tzedeck
Rosh Hashona 5716 will be ushered in at Schara Tzedeck with Maariv Services Friday evening, September 16 at 7:10 p.m. The service will be chanted by Cantor David Reznik, Rabbi Goldenberg will offer a few brief remarks and a Sermonette.
Morning services (Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17 and 18) at Schara Tzedeck will begin at 7:45 a.m. Rev. W. Shuster, who will be Baal Shacharis will also serve as Torah Readerl Cantor Reznik will chant the Musaf Service assisted by the Schara Tzedeck Young Boys Choir.
Members of the choir are: Mel-vin Schloss, Bernie Poplack, Barry Sluteky, Harold Schachter, Malcolm Weinstein, Gerald Lipsky, Moshe Gold, Gerald Assaf and Jolie Altman.
The Sermon will be preached at 10:30 a.m. Rabbi Goldenberg who will officiate at the entire Service will interpolate comments about the various prayers of the liturgy.
Special arrangements have been made for the care of younger* children (not the too young though—parents are requested to leave youngsters under 7 a home). There will b? a story hour, a supervised play period and a Junior ^Congregation Service from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m

Chicago Rabbi, Cantor To Edmonton for High Holy Days
EDMONTON — Rabbi Alfred Fruchter, and Cantor Lawrence Montrose, both of Chicago, are coming to the Beth Israel Con^ gregation of Edmonton for the coming High Holy Days. Rabbi Fruchter has been engaged to direct the spiritual services, and Cantor Montrose will chant the prayer liturgy.
Rabbi Fruchter has served as the spiritual leader of the Orthodox Synagogue in Memphis, Tenn. for the past nine yeats. Age 43, he was ordamed at the Hebrew

and is a family man with four children.
Cantor 'Montrose, age 29, was born in Chicago and attended the Roosevelt College of Musi^c. He has chanted the High Holy Day services in some of the larger cities in Midwestern United States and is at present studying at the Hebrew Theological .Seminary in Chi(;ago. Cantor Montrose is married and has one child.

Jews from the Moslem world and Jews from the Soviet orbit—Israel's needs are bound to go up greatly. A sharp rise in these needs is already indicated in the fact that 40,000 refugees are expected from North Africa alone.
A' shock wave of such immigration could very well impair Israel's strength—the strength it has been building and accumulating ever since its establishment seven and a half years ago. If ever there was a time to bolster Israel's strength even more, that time is now.
