Mr. and Mrs. Sam, Feldan and daughters, and Miss Freda Brand of Los Angeles are visiting in town for a short time. They are the house guests of their cousins Mr. and Mrs. I. Mackoff.

During their stay in Vancouver they have been entertained extensively witib luncheons by the Mesdames S. D. Leshgold, B. Victor, A. James, P. Cristall, M. Silverman and S. Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Saul Cohen entertained for their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Shector at an evening affair and Mrs. P. Wassel a dinner affair.

WEDDING
EPSTEIN-GULER—The marriage of Gloria, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Guler of Vancouver and Irvine Epstein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Epstein of Saskatoon took place on June 29, in the Herzl Synagogue of Seattle, Washington. Relatives of the bride and groom were present at the wedding. The couple Itft after the ceremony for their honeymoon on the Oregon coast. Mr. and Mrs. Epstein are now at home in The Glass Manor, 700 Chilco St. Mr. Epstein is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan's College of Law and has been in practice in Vancouver since Isist November.

Mr. and Mrs. Saiil Cohen (nee Sheila Gordon) are happy to announce the birth of a daughter, Sandra Frances, on July 12, at the Vancouver General Hospital. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Gordon of Vancouver and Mr. and Mrs. Alick Cohen of Edmonton.

Plans announced for B'nai i'rilh district convention In Seattle
SEATTLE—-The 95th Annual Convention of Grand Lodge District No. 4, B'nai B'rith, will take place in Seattle from August 16 through August 20.
Convention Commission. Chairman Howard Michel, has appointed the official convention commission from members of the three Seattle B'nai B'rith Lodges, who will act as hosts. They are Seattle Lodge No. 503, Cascade Lodge No. 1822 and Overlake Lodge No. 2040.
" Members of the Commission and vice-chairmen are: Murray Guterson, Sol Halfon, Walter Hoffman, Leon Kaplan, Archie Katz, Melville Oser-an and Albert Youngman. Honorary Chairmen are Samuel W. Tarshi^, Grand President; Merle D. Cohen, Third Vice President of the District, and P. Allen Rickles, Past Grand President.
In addition to the commission chairmen, Mr. Michel has also made the following committee appointments: Banquet: David M. Alhadeff; Finance: Henry Wolfe;-Housing, Murray Guterson; Registration: Don Kap-ner; Meetings and Sessions: Samuel G. Holcenberg; Program Book: Leon Kaplan; Special Activities: Albert Youngman; Publicity: Phil Posner; Hospitality: Harmon Matin; Youth Activities: Eddie Barrat and Irv Shaff.
Over 300 delegates and their families are expected to arrive in Seattle for the Convention, which will be held at the Olympic Hotel. The convention will elect officers for the 1958-1959 year, and will also elect delegates to the Supreme Convention to be held in Israel in 1959.
The Hospitality and Youth Activities committees are planning social events for the families of the delegates. One of the events planned is a "Fishing Derby" for the entertainment of the delegates.'
For the wives of the delegates the following events are being planned: Mrs. Abe Poll will entertain at a tea
JLocal B'nai B'rith women will serve as hostesses. On Sunday, Aqgust 17, th6re will be an Israeli Tenth Anniversary celebration, sponsored by the Seattle Park Board. This will consist of a concert and vocal selections of Jewish music and will be held in one of Seattle's loveliest parks. In-iormation v.'ill be available upon arrival in Seattle, Also being planned is a "no-host, all-water" tour of Lake Washington. Transportation and guides for the above events will be in the hands of local Seattle women. For , teen-agers in attendance, there will be an AZA-BBG mixer at the Seattle Jewish Community Centre on Sunday evening. There will also be an AZA luncheon. Details of these events, too, can be had upon arrival in Seattle.

SPACE DISPLAY AT PNE
Above is on artist's conception of fantostic "Space" display ot the 1958 Pacific National Exhibition, Vancouver, B.C., with the 108 foot three stage aluminum rocket towering above the. "big top" of the Science Show ond the "Honest John" U.S. artillery missile which, itself, reaches up 46 feer from its launching platform. The balloon "Space Cadet" right, morks the main entrance to the display. Each of the three phoses of the show, two of them free attractions, is o "first" for Canoda and the Pacific Northwest. The P.N.E. runs from August 18 through
September 1st.

VICTORIA—ABE C. GOLD, aged 74 years passed away on July 18 in Vancouver. He was a former resident of Victoria. .
He leaves to mourn his passing a diaughter, Mrs. Max Luxemburg (Rita) of Victoria, three sons, Morton and Alfred of Victoria, and Harold of Comox and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted in Haywards Chapel on Tuesday, July 22,. with Dr. J. Narod officiating. Interment was in the Victoria Jewish Cemetery.

LOS ANGELES — MRS, DAVE STARKMAN (nee Miriam Franks) passed away, in Los Angeles, recently. Mrs. Starkman was a native daughter of Vancouver, but left to reside in California as a young woman.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and two sons, Sheldon and Michael, her mother, Mrs. Z. Franks, in Los Angeles, her brothers, Drs. Bob and Monty Franks of Los Angeles, Dave Franks of Vancouver, Abe Franks of Tacoma, her sisters, Mrs.' Annabelle Ross of Los Angeles, Mrs. Fleishman and Mrs. Jacobs of Seattle and Mrs. Ralph Myers of Vancouver.
