Evergreen lodge member, Jack Kowarsky was appointed by incoming District B'nai B'rith president, Yale H, Smulyan, to serve District Grand Lodge No. 4 as Vancouver area chairman on the Anti-Defamation League committee.
At the recent B'nai B'rith Convention held in Las Vegas, delegates Jack Kowarsky, Al Joseph and alternate M. Chazen, represented Evergreen lodge. This was the 102nd Grand lodge convention, attended by more than one thousand delegates, alternatives and guests.

MONTREAL—William L. Isaac of Montreal, has won the Aviv Matzot slogan contest. The prize consists of two Air France airlines tickets to Israel. Mr, Isaac will now have the opportunity of visiting his sister in Israel, whom he has not seen for 30 years.

Kennedy fellowship awarded
NEW YORK—Dr. Sidney Boro-witz, chairman of physics department of New York University, is first American recipient of a John F. Kennedy Fellowship at the Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovoth, Israel. Selected by an international committee of scientists as one of the first three to receive the award. Dr. Boro-v/itz, on sabbatical leave from New York University, will spend a year at the Weizmann Institute. He will be accompanied by his wife and two children. The award carries with it a stipend of $10,-000 and a travelling allowance of $12,500 for family. He will work with Weizmann scientists in the Institute of Nuclear Research in his field of specialization, "The Many Body Theory", on the basic structure of the atom.

In observance of the fourth Yahrtzeit of the passing of the late beloved Chief Rabbi Ch. B. Ginsburg and to honor the memory of this revered and holy scholar, the Kaddish "Prayer for the Departed" will be recited during Sabbath sevices at Beth Hamidrosh Rabbi Ginsburg, 3^31 Heather street, Saturday, Aug. 28, at 9:30 sum. All friends and the community have been invited to participate in the services. The synagogue committee announced that Rebbetzin Ginsburg will tender a Kiddush following services. No invitations are being sent and there will be no appeal for funds, the committee stated.

JERUSALEM—An exact replica of Jerusalem as it was 2,000 years ago with its protective walls, 140 towers, 20 gates, the Second Temple and the palaces which were part of King David's city, is being constructed on a hill next to the Holyland hotel on the outskirts of Jerusalem.
