I Mrs. Irving Goldenberg is lending her leadership as convener of the Talmud Torah "Chai" Autumn Brunch upcoming on Tuesday, Nov, 23, 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Ames v/ill open their home at 7050 Hudson St. in honor of the 18th or "Chai" year of these annual Talmud Torah autumn events. "Chai", which is the Hebrew word for life, also stands for the number 18 in Hebrew Gematria and the Brunch committee has chosen the theme "Chai" this year in holding its popular fall brunch, proceeds of which will be used to enlarge the Talmud Torah new school library.

Graham Francis Smith, director of the New School, will present the second lecture in the Search For Meaning lecture-discussion series on Wednesday, Nov 17, 8:30 p.m. at the Centre auditorium.
Mr. Smith will speak on "Education For Tomorrow—^Today?" and this address is open to the entire community without admission charge.
Mr. Smith has taught in Castle-gar, at Stanley Humphries high school, and in 1956 was director of adult education for Castlegar school district. From 1957 to 1960 he taught in Northern Nigeria, retxirning to B.C. in 1960. A teacher for two years at North Delta jimior-senior high school, he then taught in England for two years. In 1964, he became principal of a school at Hixton, B.C. - Mr. Smith is also a book reviewer for the B.C. "Teacher" Magazine, a program chairman for Parent-Teacher Association and a sponsor for United Nations Association.
JEWISH YOUTH LIKE SUMMER VACATION CAMPS
TEL AVrV—Since 1949, a total of 30,000 Jewish youth from countries abroad spent their summer vacation in summer camps of the Jewish Agency. These youths came from all parts of the world: United States, Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, France, Belgium^ Italy, Greece, Turkey, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, Argentina, Brazil, Western Germany, Iran, South Africa, Chile and Uruguay. Twenty percent of these youths have decided to link their des-; tiny with Israel and took up permanent residence in the coun-' try.

The school library, which serves pupils of the Commimity's only Hebrew Day School, has been newly re-organized and employs a part-time librarian who teaches elementary library science in the school as well. The P.T.A. plays a vital role in efforts to raise the general academic facilities of the school, including library, learning aids and equipment, extra-curricular activities, sports equipment and kitchen facilities.
"The 'Chai* Bruncti, generously supported by the women of the entire Community, will enable the Talmud Torah to augment its new library and to continue in many other areas essential in aiding the education of the children of the Community," said convener, Mrs. Goldenberg, this week in extending an invitation for everyone to attend the forthcoming event on Nov. 23.
Set ''open mike'' Shilah session at B.L tonight
Rabbi Wilfred Solomon will again conduct an "Open Mike" Shilah Session in place of his regular sermon, during Oneg Shabbat which follows Friday night services at Congregation Beth Israel. Services commence at 8:15 p.m. tonight. The Shilah Session will be a regular monthly feature at Beth Israel, and will permit members of the Congregation to "talk back" on any questions regarding Jewish nfe and observances.
Hazzan Tibor Moses will chant the liturgy, assisted by Beth Israel Choir under direction of S. Peiman. Oneg Shabbat is tendered by Beth Israel Sisterhood.
Sabbath morning services, Nov. 13, commence at 9:15 a.m., with Rabbi Solomon and Hazzan Moses officiating and Joseph Szabo reading the Torah.
