(Continued from Page 1) the Government of Israel. He is world famous for his role as Governor of Jerusalem when that City was under siege during the 1948-1949 Arab-israeU War.
The trials and tribulations of Jerusalem under siege is recorded in Dr. Josephs' book, "The Faithful City". In addition to honoring U.J.A. campaign leadership, the Dinner on March 23 will also pay respects to some of the campaign's outstanding workers and canvassers. These include;
Mrs. Dora Yorsh, the most outstanding example of enthusiasm, devotion, and d e d i c a t i o n to U.J.A.; continiiotisiy a top Can-
vasser of Women's Division, in 1964 and 1965 she raised more than $5,000 for the campaign.
Joshua Checov, known as a man who has cards in every pocket and a worker on almost every campaign in Vancouver, but his main devotion is tc U.J.A.; for 13 consecutive years he has covered more cards than any other man and since 1957 has never canvassed less than 200 prospects; last year he set a new record, one that may never be surpassed—^291 cards completed.
Abe Glotman, known as a man who covers the difficult cards; when others fail to make contact he takes over and follows through until the card is com-
pleted; over the past seven campaigns his average coverage has, been 131 cards. i
Aser Harowitz, a luminary on I the U.J.A. scene who, in additior to his responsibility as chairman of 1965 General Canvassing Div-, ision, undertook to canvass a great many cards; he covered. 69 cards, succeeded in receiving do nations from 4T prospects who had not given in 1964; from cards which produced $1,737 in 1964, Mr. Harowitz secured $4,497—a phenomenal increase.
Those who have not already made reservations for the "Israel Salutes Vancouver" Dinner have been urged to do so immediately by calling 266-5366.
