ISRAELI COLONEL TO GIVE S.T. SERMON
A distinguished visitor to Vancouver, Lt. Col. Samuel Mor, will

Lt. Col. Mor has been on active service with the Israeli Army since establishment of Israel. Nirkoda Dancers, under direction of Judy Hirt, performed "Erev Shel Shoshanim" ("An evening of roses"). This modem dance, based on an Israeli folk song, was a beautiful combination of music, vocal rendition and expressive movement. Choreography by Miss Hirt was enriched by subdued blue lights.
Claire Klein Osipov*s "zis kol" was outstanding and her renditions heartily enjoyed. The audience was carried from hushed silence through hootenanny excitement, as she sang such favorites as "Margueritkas", "Mayn Klein Yingele", "Mayn Rueh Platz" and "Donna, Donna".
Fagie Rashcovsky accompanied Mrs. Osipov with feeling and finesse, as only an artist in her ■ own right can do, while Sol j Jackson carried on his task of ' master of ceremonies with re-' spect for his audience as well as
Ralph Wolfe passes here on Jan. 6
Ralph Wolfe of 5614 Balsam, passed away here Jan. 6 at the age of 76 years.
Born in Gould, Yorkshire, England, Mr. Wolfe came to Canada 60 years ago, settling first in Montreal. He has been a resident of Vancouver for the past 38 years and was affiliated here with Congregation Beth Israel. He : was also a member of St. George's Masonic lodge 80.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; a daughter, Mrs. B. (Natalie) Rozen; four brothers, David, Fred, Jack and Lazarus, all of Montreal; one sister, Goldie, in Springfield, Mass.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 8 at Schara Tzedeck chapel with Rabbi Marvin Hier and Cantor Murray Nixon officiating. Interment followed at Beth Israel cemetery. Chevra Kadisha was in . charge of arrangements.

Abe Arnold, executive director, Canadian Jewish Congress, Western Region, will be in Vancouver from Tuesday, Feb. 4th to Saturday, Feb. 8. .
He will present an illustrated talk on "The history of our people in Western Canada" at a Canadian Jewish Congress meeting of executive and board of delegates on Thursday, February 6th. Presentation will follow formal meeting at 9 p,m.
Mr. Arnold will also address the Victoria Jewish community on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
