Timing of the squeeze is one
of the most attractive plays in bridge. This hand showing the discard of a loser on a loser for the timing is an example of this
kosygin visit"

emphasized that the occasion of Premier Kosygin's presence in Canada is a unique and unexpected opportunity to register perhaps the most effective protest carried out in the last couple of years.
It is for this reason a spoices-man said: "... that we strongly urge the Jewish communities and all organizations to give this two-week protest period the highest possible priority."
"This is a rare opportunity in which the right of Soviet Jews to live as Jews, the riglit to emigrate to Israel, and to demand the liberation of Jews now languishing in labour camps for the "crime" of attempting to emigrate to Israel can be dramatically placed before the Soviet Premier."
Action Committees which include representatives from all major organizations in Jewish communities throughout Canada, are working in major cities to coordinate their own protest programs. What is emphasized by all Action Committees is that, while the series of events will be dramatic, they are planned with the stress on orderly protest. The protest period will commence with cross-Canada Simchat Torah demonstrations on Tuesday, Oct. 12 (See also page 3). The Simchat Torah demonstra-
astute play. The contract is 6 Clubs played by South.
West led the D. 2 and the 10 was covered by the K and the Ace. Declarer, S, drew 3 rounds of trumps and then led a small diamond to the J at which point W. showed out. Declarer now made the discerning play of discarding a loser on a loser for the timing of the operational squeeze by leading the S. J from the table and discarding a diamond from his own hand.
In the bidding sequence W. overcalled in spades. W. now in possession exited with a H.,E.'s 10 losing to declarer's Q.
The D. Q was now led after which the last two trumps were led out.
Dummy kept S. K, H. K 8, D. 6, while S.'s last four cards wer6 H. A 6 4 and C. 8.
On the last club W. was squeezed in spades and hearts. Now had E. been the layer with 4 H.'s he would have been squeezed in H.'s and D.'s.
