PAVONY DEVELOPING ACADEMY PROGRAM
Sol ^avony has joined the staff at the Torah Academy and Chabad House as principal of tht Hebrew Priinary and Pre-School. He will be developing the program for the coming year and will, for the remainder of this school year, act as coordinator and resource person for the present school staff. ^ Mr. Pavony. certificated to teach both in pre-school and elementary school, has had extensive experience in the field of education.
As a staff member of Vancouver Resource Board's orthopsychiatric team, he worked with elementary and high-school students throughout the city on a screened referral basisv He later served as a human resources counsellor within Kitsi-lano Secondary school and was recently on staff' at the Student Deyeiopment Centre at Cburchill Secondary schooL ^ - In the field of pie-school, Mr. Pavony acted as^ a supervisor at the Child t Development Centre at Vancouver City College, Langara Campus. He was also one of the founding members, of the ''Summer of *73 Co-op Day Care Centres Under-Thite and Over-Three** at UBC. In addition, he was co-fouoder of the One-to-6ne Ediicational Services of Vancouver.
In his youth^ Sol Pavony attended the Satmar and Bobover Yeshivas.. Yeshiya of Hudson County and Yeshiva of Chairo Berlin. He was later active in Habonim youthand as a member of Habonim Workshop,

Mr. Pavony, father of three, has been actively involved in Chabad-Lubavitch for the past two years. He stated that he is eager to combine his **experience in education and his love for Yiddishkeit to create an excitinjg and dynamic Richmond Hebrew School for the coming years."
HABONIWI HOLDS AEUNION SUNDAY
A picnic reunion for former members of Habonim and Camp Miriam will be held thi& Sunday, June.22, jl a.m> at Stanley Park.
All former menibers are being requested to bring along- their families, a picnic lunch and sports equipment. They iue also asked to bring memorabilia of their years in Habonim, such as photographs and xM Parkeinu isswx^ .
The - picnic will be. held rain or shine at the covered picnic tables near the miniature railw&y.

NORTH SHORE JEWISH ORGANIZATIONS MERGE
The only two Jewish organizations on the North Shore joined forc^ recently when the North Shore Jewish Community Association merged with the North Shore Hebrew School.
The merger took place at the recent annual general meeting of the Association, when its membership voted in favor of the move. The school's membership had previously approved the merger at_its annual general meeting.
The six-year-old Association has become a Jewish organizsition of 67 • families. It offers monthly Sabbath services, social get-togethers, youth activities and a weekly playgroup for prerschoolers — but, until now, no Hebrew or Jewish education for school-age children.
The North Shore Hebrew School has been operating successfully for the last 11 years. Attempts to unite the two had been unsuccessful until now^-;; '

TORONTO— Chaim Grade, the Yiddbh novelist, has been presented with the annual Marilyn Finkler Memorial Award for , art and' fiterature.
Both groups hope to gain by their union. The Association will now have its own school and hopes to increase its youth activities, and the school will be backed by an established congregation and rabbi.
Executive officers elected at the Association's annual general meet-, ing are: Horst Sachs, president; Pat Ferman, Sheila Greenberg, Alan Woolf, vice-presidents; Ralph Herzstein, treasurer; Arlyne Fenster, secretary; David Levy, Stanley Motta, Barry Promislow, trustees.
'Workers for Zion' hear Sara Manobia
The 'Workers: for Zion* organization will hold its June meeting this Monday, June 23, 8 p.m., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kom-feid. 134 Peveril avenue.
The evening will feature a lecture" by Sara Manobia, executive-director. Canadian Zionist Federation, Pacific Region, on the subject, **Is-riBtel, Zionism and the Palestinians.** Additionailyj Meyer Kron wiU review recent political events.
