For generations, the Passover season has been the -time of Moess Chit tint — helping the Jewish poor.
Historically, the rabbi and distinguished meritibers of a community would go from house to house to collect an assessment from each fartiily. They would then distribute a proper amount to the poor according to their need.
. Everyohe was involved, either as a giver or a receiver.
Today, many generations later, the Jewish Family; Service Agency continues the tradition by collecting Moess Chittim donations to be distributed to needy families in our community. V
These coritrihutions enable families to celebrate their freedom at Passover.
As well, hampers of matzah and other Passover foods are sent to Jewish people in hospitals and institutions.
