Rehovbt (JCNS) - A new method to determine sensitivity to penicillin has been developed at the Weizmann fostiiute of Science. Sensitivity to penicillin may sometimes ^idaiiger life.
TMs method has been developed by Joseph Haimo-vich, a student attheFeih-berg Graduate School^ who evolyed tite metliod under the guidance d Professor Michael Sela, head ci the institute's Chemical Bn-munology Section.
Hitherto, sensitivity to
penicillin was detennlnedby injecting a pitieiit w^ a small quantity of the chemical; if there was.no reaction, he was given a larger injection. Howeyi^ if the. patient; was allergic to penicilllii, the initial injection sometimes had dcuigerous conse-cpiences.
The development of a better test involved, atiOrs^ a system of detiecting extremely, smallj concentra-ticms of antibodies to chemical c<Mnpounds^ When the clystem hiadbeenevcdyed.
the researches went on to test its effectiveness with penicillin.;
They ''bound" a quantity of penicillin to viruses. They then extractedfrom the blood of a person known to be allergic to penicillih a serum wAiich p\ey assumed would contain the antibodiies causing ^ucb an iaJlergy. In the next stage, they "attacked" the penicillin "bound" tothe viruses and found that most of fte viruses, which "rep-res«ited" the penicilliii^ had been neutralized. ' .

• The Territory inhabited mostly by the racially pure Blacks starts west somewhere close to the Republic of Central Africa; it continues south close to the Congolese border; then it reaches the frontier of Uganda and Kenya. On the main East it touches Ethiopia. The area is split by the White Nile. The towns there are Mal-akal, Yei and Juba.
• In all of these centres the administrators are Moslems and Arabs. There the Negroes have less rights than they had one-hundred-and-fifty years ago in the South of the United States.

NO ONE ADMITTED
When the African asked why no one till now has reported his contention of "a permanent" massacre, the answer was:
"No one in Khartoum can receive a permit to visit this area. Foria long time a revolt has been brewing in the south of Sudan^^ a revolt no one reports. Half-a-millidn black Sudanese were killed for leading an underground warfare against Khartoum. Literally hundreds of thousands are hiding in the bushes. Three-hundredTthousand were "evacuated" from the area on suspicion of revolt Still THE REVOLT that no one reports continues. Somehow the bushmen receive arms; they train for war; they counterattack; ^hey fight and they even organize secretly Christian religious services."
