TORONTO —
A star-studded lineup of Canadian and international authors is scheduled to appear at the seventh Jewish Book Fair in the Leah Posluns Theatre Nov. 13-20.
The Fair will offer more than 15,000 books for-sale, written in English, Yiddish, French, Hungarian and Russian.
Guest speaker opening night at 8.3Q is Shlo-mo Avineri, former director-general of the Israel ministry of foreign affairs and author of The Maldng of Modem Zionism. He will spealc on: Has Zionism a Future? Middle East Update.
Other scheduled speakers over the 7-day event include William Novak, author of The Great American Man Shortage and Other Roadblocks to Romance; Sol Littman, author of War Criminal on Trial; Adele Freedman, author of Gershon Iskowitz: Painter of Light; Susannah Heschel, who wrote On Being a Jewish Feminist: A Reader; and Dennis Prager, author of Why the Jews? The Reason for Anti-semitism.
Samuel Pisar, international attorney, Auschwitz survivor and author of the bestseller Of Blood and Hope, is the featured guest Saturday, Nov. 19, the last night of the Fair.'
Ruth Gruber, author, foreign correspondent and authority on the Middle East, will also be on hand. In her latest book, Haven, she talks poignantily and unfor-gettobly about postwar life and of the very few who survived.

What are the best Canadian wfaies? Which wines are the best buys if yon have a champagne taste and ia beer budget?
Tony Aspler, author of ,the new book Vintage Canada, will answer the first question, and Lucy Waverman, author of The Penny Pincher' s Wine Guide, wiU answer the second at the 1983 International Food & Wine Fair.
They're two of the experts who'll be on hand at Toronto's annual culinary and wine-tasting extravaganza Oct. 21-to 23 at the Queen Elizabeth Building at Exhibition Place.
This year's show offers more than 125 exhibitor displays, more than 325 ^'products of the grape'' available for tasting [at cost], plus plenty of firee samples of a variety of food delicacies.
The admission fee of $5 includes one complimentary wine-tasting glass.

For those weight watchers, Janet Polivy
and Peter Herman, authors of Breaking the Diet Habit, will be available to discuss the Dangers of Dieting.
Marifi Jacobs, author of Precautions Against Death, wiD tell the story of her childhood in Nazi-
occupied Holland when she and her mother concealed and saved the lives of 12 Jews.
Jacobs and her mother are currently in Israel to receive official recognition of their heroism.
Others at the Fair
include Rose Murray, author of Rose Murray's Vegetable Cookbook, who will demonstrate The Vegetable Art; teacher and writer Gary Levine will speak on Defining Jewish Identity; journalist, radio and
television personality Allan Gould will discuss Jewish Toronto.
Other speakers include Howard Aster, professor of political science at McMaster University, Martin Avery and his wife TV
personality Bat Sheva, and author Marcia Basmah.
Most morning and afternoon programs are free. Otherwise tickets are $4 opening night and the Nov. 19 programs are $6 each.
