TRAVEL
Discovers Ireland's Charms with Fellow Canadians
By MARY STEWART
Canada — 125 years of immigration and country building, 125 years to celebrate in as many different ways we possibly can. Harbour Centre Travel in Vancouver, Passages Travel in Winnipeg and Lewis an McAllister Travel in Kitchener have come up with an exciting new way to celebrate Canada's birthday.
What better way to get to know Canadians from other regions of the country than to travel together? What better destination than Ireland, the country of origin for so many
North Americans? And there is so much to discover!
We travel from Limerick, and from the very first day there is music, music and more music. There'll be poetry and dancing, and sheep to shear and sheep to stroke, at the Cliffs of Moher, an amazing spot where the ragged edges ofthe cliffs drop off to the sea.
The landscape changes dramatically, and even though it's a rocky, lunar landscape like Sudbury, Connemara somehow doesn't resemble Sudbury at all. You can see peat being harvested, marble being

IN MEMORIAM
Declan O'Leary
We, the parents and family of the late Declan O'Leary who died in Seattle one year ago, wish to thank all of those who sympathized with us on Declun's death and all those who attended the mass for Declan in Seattle. We especially want to thank Fr. Tom Mcknnis who saicl the Mass, Martina, Freda, Sid, the McOlvnn family, Declan's good friend Tom Clinton, and <i host of other
people too numerous to mention, We sriso want to sincerely thank Finian Rowland and the Irish Heritage Club members for their help. We very much appreciate the kindness and hospitality shown to us by all of those people and we will never forget. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.

polished and you'll know there is no place like Ireland.
On to Sligo and Yeats country; on to Donegal to see a town famous for its knitwear, then a stop for a visit to Yeats' grave.
In Dublin, we're in a modern, thriving city, but one with so much history and character. The Book of Kells is on display at Trinity College and we visit St. Patrick's Cathedral. There is free time here to visit the National Museum or the newly excavated Viking village.
After Dublin, we'll go back to the Irish countryside for visits to Wexford and Waterford, then on to the highlight for most visitors, the incredibly beautiful Ring of Kerry.
In Kerry, we'll see where so many immigrants left Ireland for Canada and the U.S.A. during the Famine.
A medieval banquet concludes the tour, a special way to say goodbye to new friends.
You don't have to be Irish to join us; you don't even have to be Canadian to help celebrate Canada's birthday!
New Megalithic Site
An Irish passage grave site is currently being excavated in Co. Kilkenny north of Carrick-on-Suir on the road to Callan. One of the chambers is thought to align with the setting sun on December 21. Archaeologists are also excited by the fact that this is the furthest south that a decorated megalithic site has been discovered.
