OCTOBER 2002
IN LOVING MEMORY
LIAM McCAY
In memory of Liam McCay who died suddenly on October 19, 1981 at the age of 22 years.
Never forgotten, 'til we meet again in Tir na N'Og, the Land of Eternal Youth.
THE STOLEN CHILD
Where dips the rocky highland Of Sleuth Wood in the lake, There lies a leafy island Where flapping herons wake The drowsy water-rats; There we've hid our faery vats, Full of berries
And of reddest stolen cherries.
Come away O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping
than you can understand.
Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim grey with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses
We foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances,
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight;
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And is anxious in its sleep
Come away O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery, hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
— W.B. Yeats
PROTECT THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD
The news recently has been filled with the horrifying news of kidnappings, sexual abuse, torture and murder of babies and young children everywhere in the world. One cannot help wonder how low our society has come that we would destroy our most vulnerable and valuable treasures...our children.
Jesus had harsh words for anyone who interferes with children to which he made several references in the Bible. On leading others astray - Luke 17:2 "It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone put around his neck than that he should lead astray a single one of these little ones."

Generosity is Deeply Appreciated
Dear Editor:
On behalf of Betty, Tony and Anthony O'Duffy-Brennan, I would like to extend a very sincere "thank you" to all their numerous friends, members of the Irish Sporting and Social Club, the English lads from the British Ex Servicemen's Club and Penny Lane Pub who responded so generously to the wheelchair fund.
A wheelchair ramp has now been installed and the power wheelchair has been custom-ordered. I reiterate the collective sentiment of all Betty's friends by offering her our prayers and support and letting her know that she is in our thoughts at all times..
May God Bless all of You Margaret Larkin Vancouver. B.C.
