A Wild Night of Celtic Celebration
VANCOUVER - After eight years of touring festivals and clubs on both sides of the Atlantic, Mad Pudding has developed a well-earned reputation for consistently exciting and entertaining live shows. The group performs euphoric music that skillfully blends North American and Celtic styles with jazzy and funky grooves with a contemporary twist.
Equally at home inspiring dancing crowds in the open air as they are in intimate concert settings, Mad Pudding has played festivals and toured Ireland, Scotland, Holland, Denmark, England, Bermuda, the United States and Canada.
They have been nominated for three West Coast Music awards, two for
their CDs and one for Best Live Act. Mad Pudding has performed unique arrangements of their music in collaboration with several choirs and orchestras including the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Chor Leoni, musica intima and the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra.
Mad Pudding's exuberance is contagious and makes dancing impossible to resist. Performances have included the Shetland Folk Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Skagen Festival (Denmark), Orkney Folk Festival, San Francisco Celtic Festival, Celtic Colours Festival (Cape Breton), Philadelphia Folk Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival and the Vancouver Folk Festival.
The Mad Pudding line-up is: Andy Hillhouse on vocals and guitar; Cameron Wilson on fiddle and vocals; Allan Dionne on drums and vocals; Boris Favre: bass and vocals; Karla Mundy on vocals and accordion.
On May 27, Mad Pudding will meet the Vancouver Bach Choir on stage at the Orpheum for Last Night of the Proms. This promises to be a wild night of Celtic celebration and traditional "proms" music with the Bach Choir, the Children's Chorus, Bruce Pullan, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
