REMEMBERING the Molly
Maguires with the 'Day of the Rope' memorial. Each year, the Ancient Order of Hibernians organizes a celebration of the Mass to remember the 10 men who were hanged at Mauch Chunk and Pottsville, Pennsylvania on June 21, 1877. The men were a group of the ultra-secret organization of Irish Pennsylvania coal-miners known as the Molly Maguires.
