HUGE SUCCESS forthe 2011 Royal Tour of Canada by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, June 30 and July 8. The tour saw the newlywed couple visit four of Canada's regions: Western Canada, Central Canada, Atlantic Canada, and Northern Canada. It is the first such tour undertaken since their marriage two months prior. The tourwas followed by more than 1,300 accredited media. It included the first use of the Duke of Cambridge's royal standard for Canada, the first Canadian citizenship ceremony with attendance by royalty, Canada Day ceremonies attended by approximately 800,000 people, and many smaller events across the country. LONDON — After 168 years in circulation, the News of the World has abruptly closed down over shocking telephone hacking scandal. The best-selling international tabloid had been accused of hacking into cell phone messages — including the family of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler, and the families of 7/7/05 bombing victims — to generate content for their publication. IRELAND'S Caladh Nua play this year's Mission Folk Festival at the Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission, B.C. July 21-24.
