Mrs. M. Stein was hostess, at a kitchen shower at the residence of her mother, 557 Rideau Street, in honour of her sister-in-law, Miss Annie Stein, prior to her marriage to Mr. L. Zilberg. The rooms were adorned with pink and white tulips and the tea-table, which was centered with a doll bride, was presided over by Mrs. J. N. Nathanson and Mrs. Chas. Tanner. They were assisted by Misses Miriam Caplan, Sara Miller, Goldie Levine and Mrs. H. Cooper.

A dinner party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. I. Rosenthal in honour of the betrothal of their only daughter, Lillian, to r. Harry Shoihet, both of Ottawa. Covers were laid for eighty guests. The rooms and tables were decorated with baskets of daffodils. Rabbi J. D. Berger and Rabbi M. J, Mintz gave short addresses. The out-of-town guests were Mrs. Sharagge and
Miss Toba Sharagge, of Montreal.

Mrs. J. N. Nathanson and Mrs. H. Cooper were hostesses at stationery and book shower at the home of Mrs. Cooper. Gifts, ncluding money donations, were received for the booth which these ladies will convene at the Had-assah Chapter bazaar next month. The tea-table was centered with carnations and spring flowers and was presided over by Mrs. A. H. Co plan, Mrs. A. L, Spector and Mrs. H. Dover. Assisting in the tea-room were Misses Goldie Levine, Ann Spector, Mrs. H. Astrof, Mrs. H. H. Sugarman, Mrs. I. Zivian and Mrs. J. Kizell.
MARRIAGE
Zilberg�S: ein The marriage was solemnized last Friday afternoon of Miss Annie Stein, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Stein, and Mr. Louis Zilberg, of Ottawa. The marriage ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's parents, 173 W Her Street, Rabbi J. D. Berger and Rabbi Doctor officiating. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore white georgette crepe embroidered in crystal beads. Her veil was arranged in a fan-shaped cap with a wreath of

bride was attended by her aunt, Mrs, H. Sharagge, of Montreal, as matron of honour, and Mr. H. Stein, brother of the bride, was beet man. Dinner was served'to the immediate relatives,
A large reception was held On Sunday evening by Mr. and Mrs. ftlberg at the home of Mrs. Zilberg's parents. An orchestra played and a buffet supper was served.
Among the out-of-town gueats present were Mrs. H. Sharagge, Miss.Tobie Sharagge, Mr. and Mrs. Goldberg and Miss Rose Qarn, all of Montreal.
HADASSAH CHAPTER TEA
The Hadassah Chapter held a tea Tuesday of last week at the residence of Mrs. L. Davis, 354 Daly Avenue, at which 40 ladies sewed in preparation for a bazaar. The Hadasaan bulletin was read by Mrs. J. N. Nathanson. The table was decorated with spring blooms and Mrs. C. Gould presided, assisted by Mrs. H. Astrof, Mrs, J. Davis, Miss Ruth Davis and Miss Anne Slonemaky.
JEWISH PEOPLE'S INSTITUTE
A repeat concert was held at the Jewish People's Institute on Sunday, February 17. The adult choir, composed of Messrs. Simonoff, Hartman, Sherman, Slavin, and L. Drachler, and Mesdames Green, Waxier, Katzman, Shuster, and Kilenofsky, rendered Jewish folk-songs. Other features were a violin solo by Mr. Faalen, accompanied by Mr. J. Stafford; recitations ana readings by: Miss Kilenofsky, from Rosenfeld; H. Simonoff, from Perez; S. Drachler, from "Shalom Aleichem" and Moshe Nadir,; Mrs. D. Green, from Rosenfeld, and vocal solos by B. Fleming. Mr. D. Slover gave dramatic recitations of "Der Zalot" (the Zealot) by Liessen, and a Yiddish translation of Hyman Edelstein's "After the Progrom." Mr. Polinsky presided.
JUNIOR HADASSAH CHAPTER
Miss Olive Pullan presided over a meeting of the Junior Hadassah at the King Edward Avenue Institute last Sunday afternoon. 3rd vice-president and councillor are leaving the city, and Miss Pearl Goldfield was elected new 3rd vice-president and Miss Bella Pearl was elected new councillor. Miss Mollie Sachs was appointed convenor of refreshments of a Leap Year dance to be given by the Chapter on Saturday evening, March 1. Miss Pearl Goldfield reported on the Hadassah convention.
Y.M.H.A. BANTAM CHAMPIONS
The Y.M.H.A. Bantams won the Bantam Championship of Ottawa when they defeated the Technical School by a score of 18 to 7.

Miss Lillian Biumenthal was hostess at a bridge and supper on Sunday evening, given in honour of Miss Thelma Bercowitz, a bride-elect of next month. The supper table was arranged with daffodils and carnations; decorations were carried out in pink and blue. The guest of honour received a bouquet of sweet peas and lillies-of-the-valley and a beautiful piece of linen. Supper was served by Mrs. I. Biumenthal, assisted by Mrs, J. Skudwick. The bridge, prizes were won by Misses Thelma Berkowitz and Frances Glass. Those present were: Misses Thelma Berkowitx, Lw Godelph, Jessye Levine, Frances Glass, Etta Levine, Sybil Epstein, Sara PklH stein. and Mrs. Stud wick.
