Solomon Levinson, who is acting as host at the dinner at the Montefiore Club, has sent out a personal invitation to a large number of friends, Lyon Cohen, Samuel Hart, Samuel Wener, Zave Levinson and Lionel Coviensky are on the invitation committee. Lionel Coviensky and Abe Bronfman are in charge of arrangements.

HEBREW MATERNITY HOSPITAL ELECTION
The annual meeting of the Hebrew Maternity Hospital took place at Baron de Hirsch Institute. Among those present were: Harry Gordon, C. B. Fainer, Allan Bronfma/i, Dr. Schacher, Dr. N, Wiseman, Dr. Eidlow, Mr. Solomon, Rabbi Colton, J. B. Miller, S. Duskes, Dr. M. Rabinovitch, Mr. Feldman, Dr. Tannenbaum, G. Solomon, Mesdames Gordon, Wener, Lustgarten, C. B. Fainer, Rabinovitch, Tannenbaum, Cohen. J. B. Miller, retiring president, spoke.
The treasurer, C. B. Fainer, read the financial reports for 1924 and 1925, and in his remarks brought out the fact that owing to the lack of support from the Jewish community, the hospital is faced with a deficit of over S3,000.

On April 23, in the Wind&or Hotel, twenty-five division commanders of the Women's Hospital Campaign met to divide the city into districts for soliciting contributions for the $500,000 Building Fund. Peter Bercovitch was elected vice-president of the Board of Governors of the Hospital. Dr. A. Bercovitch, who arrived from Winnipeg a few years ago to continue his work in women's diseases, was appointed chief gynaecologist and Dr. Moe Scherzer head of the children's department. Dr. M. Scherzer, who carried on research work under Professor Heinrich Finglestein, of Berlin, the world-famous authority in children's diseases, is carrying on child welfare work in Montreal. The new board was given authority to amalgamate with the committee in charge of the Jewish General Hospital for the purpose of erecting a maternity arid general hospital and they were also authorized to transfer and hand over the assets of the Hebrew Maternity Hospital to the committee in charge of the erection of the hospital.
