his attitude. We have in mind the new independent State of Ghana for example, whose Prime Minister Kwami Nkrumah stated both in Ottawa and Washington last week that he disagreed with Nasser in his attitude toward Israel, or the "Palestine question" as he put it. He also supported the view that a summit conference should help solve the Arab-Israel dispute, and in Ottawa he announced his interftion "?b visit Israel shortly, and see my good, friend Mr. Ben Gurion.'"
Another government which is taking an independent position on the Israel-Arab dispute is that of. Yugoslavia. Last week the Yugoslav minister to Israel, Dragoje Djuric visited Prime Minister Ben Gurion and gave him a "friendly warning" against involvement by Israel in "imperialist ventures." This was in regard to Israel's position in the present Middle East situation. It is understood however, that after talking to Ben Gurion the Yugoslav diplomat reported that he obtained a "satisfactory impression" on Israel's position in the present crisis.
This is only one side of the Yugoslav approach however. A few weeks ago there were talks between President Tito of Yugoslavia and President Nasser. According to a report on these talks in the London Jewish Chronicle, Tit6 told .Nasser that the United Arab Republic should pursue a policy of moderation towards Israel. President Tito is reported* to have indicated that if such a course was not acceptable for prestige reasons, Nasser, shouId go even further and arrange a modus vivendi with Israel which would prevent the recurrence of incidents likely to cause new tension in the area. ^
Although these things may appear to be nothing more than straws in the wind at the. moment, the situation could be favorably altered by a fruitful summit meeting. The main coursse for Israel at the present time seems to "be to keep its powder dry, avoid entanglements that may link it with either side in the present crisis and continue to explore every possibility of reaching a modus vivendi with" Hi Arab neighbors.

witness accbiint of what medical aid does in Israel:
"Some of our ladies have just returned from Israel, where they saw the Hydro Therapy Pool and Rehabilitation Centre at Sarafand. Some of you may know that this Centre is the first of its kind not only in Israel, but in the entire Middle East.. To see these many young stricken children receiving care and attention that would otherwise be denied them was a rewarding sight to our Canadian women. I am sure it must be equally rewarding to you to know that you, with your contribution, have helped so greatly. I know your work will continue, and I hope, with ever groiwing success."
