BUENOS AIRES—Police have arrested two yoimg men who confessed to vandalizing a kosher hotel and restaurant at the Mar del Plata seaside resort last week. Furniture was destroyed, valuable objects stolen, and virulent anti - Semitic inscriptions and Swastika daubings left.

With Monty McFarlane acting as master of ceremonies and Howie Isman's orchestra offering lively music, the Queen Esther Ball of Centennial chapter 1022 B.B.W. is now fully assured of success, organizers of the gala event told The Bulletin this week.
Mr. McFarlane is the well known entrepeneur of C.J.O.R. radio morning program.
The Queen Esther Ball on the Purim theme will be held at Wosk auditorium, Feb. 22, 7:30 p.m. A full course buffet dinner will be served xmd highlight of the evening will be crowning of a Queen. Many surprises, entertainment and prizes will be offered to all happy Ball-goers.
Tickets were reported selling like "Bagels on a Sunday morning". They are available now from any chapter member or by phoning Mrs. A. Crane, 266-8188, or Mrs. I. Tischler, 876-2934. Table reservations are also being handled at the same numbers.
All committees are noted to be in full swing to make the event an unqualified success. Mrs. S. Goldberg, "master of all Ball trades", is secretary of the committee and has also attended to the reception of sponsors, of whom it was reported there are many.

During morning service, 9:15 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, Randy Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elken Rosenhek, will be called to the Torah as a Bar-Mitzvah. Rabbi Solomon and Cantor Nixon will officiate, assisted by Beth Israel Qhoir. Following the service a Kiddush will be given by Mr. and Mrs. Rosenhek in honor of their son.
Youth Congregation Sabbath services are held every Saturday, 10:15 am. in the chapel followed by a Luncheon-Kiddush in the

A traditional program has been planned for the joint Tu B'Shvat celebration slated this Tuesday, Feb. 4, 8:30 p.m. at the Centre by host groups. Senior and Gor-donia clubs of Pioneer Women.
Presidents of the clubs, Mrs. E. Steiner of Senior and Mrs. L. Jacdbson of Gordonia, announced this week that Mrs. J. Checov will speak on J.N.F. and report on the conference she attended in Winnipeg. Mrs. Checov is P.W. Council secretary and a past president of Council.
Reporting on the board meeting they attended in Montreal will be Mrs. C. Margolis, P.W. Council president and ^s. H. Gorbovitsky, national board member.
All Pioneer Women friends are being invited to join the Tu B'Shvat evening which will feature Israeli music and traditional refreshments.

JERUSALEM — A recent census revealed that 2,841,000 people inhabited Israel at the end of 1968, with 2,435,000 among them Jews. These fig-lu-es include inhabitants of East Jerusalem. General increase of the population in 1968 was 63,000 (2.4%); natural increase of_ Jewish population was approximaetly 50,000 (2.1%); natural increase of the non-Jewish population reached 12,500 (3.9%).
