Set ^Eflcouragemeiit Group for Parents^ Mondloys at 7:30p.iii«
An encouragement group for parents is being sponsored by the Jewish Family Service Agency at the Centre, starting Oct. 18.
Officials noted that while some parents have discovered for themselves satisfatory ways of dealing effectively with family problem situations, others have been less successful, and all parents should bo open to more information and ideas. The encouragement group is concerned with a wide-range of parent needs.
The program will provide parents with basic techniques and some theory with which to n^eet the every-day problems and crises of living. Marital relationships will not be examined; the focus will be upon children. The frame of reference is "Children, the Challenge" by Dr. Rudolf Dreikurs.
Two experts, David Greenall and Evelyn Corker — both holding post-graduate degrees in counselling psychology — will lead the group.
