The best answer is to quote the relevant vers^ in Deuteronomy 25, 5-10 in which the law of dialitsa (the word means ^'drawing oflE" the dioeV is stated: "If brethren dwe^. together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wile of the dead sh^ll not be married alm>ad unto one not of his kin; her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of a husband's brother unto her. And it shall be, that the firstborn that she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother that is dead, that his name be not blotted out of Israel*
"And if the man like not to take his brother's Wife, then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate unto the elders, and say: >My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel; he will not perform the du'fy of a husbabd!$ brother unto me.' Then the

TRIBUTE TO GOLDIE BALTMAN
The Louis Brier Home for the Aged and Mizrachi (Senior) Chapter of Vancouver have indeed lost a most devoted and ardent worker in the passing of the late Goldie Baltman.
She can truly be likened to THE CANDLE which gives its cheer and warmth without force. Gladly shines forth with its blessed light, even if it means that it cutsi its own life short in the process.
Her mission here was always being available and ready to serve in any capacity in all worthy communal and Israel projects on behalf of her people.

mm-CITY BASKETBAU SEItltS TO CONmUE
BUENOS AIRES-Three leading Argentine Jewish organizations have warned the community to be on their guard, but not to be panicked, by the increase in anti-Semitic literature and other anti-Semitic manifestations in this country.
They are Amia, the Greater Buenos Aires Ashkenazi community; the Argentine Zionist Organization; and Daia, the representative organization of Argentine Jews, the last of which has appealed to Jewish schools and institutions in particular not to be "excessively alarmed by rumors."
The Daia statement followed a press conference convened by the so-called "Associacion Israel-ita," believed to be a Communist or Left-inspired group, to give
warning of "strong rumors" an extremist Arab organizat was planning to kidnap 200 Jew school children.
"Schools must not be clo it is only niecessary to adopt security precautions and to permanently on guard," emphasized in its statement.
