RECOMMENDS U.S. AID ISRAELI YOUTH Oscar Ewing, United States Federal Security Administrator, announced he would recommend that the United States Commissioner of Education lend technical and advisory assistance to Israel. Details will be worked out during the next few weeks in Washington, he said. Mr. Ewing had little chance to make a thorough study but he said f-'om whut he had seen he was convinced that Israel's youth, emigrating from twenty-five countries with almost as many educational, social, cultural and economic backgrounds, was badly in need of assistance. He proposed that an advisory unit come first and then, if needed, an educational mission to help handle all problems. He said he was impressed by "this miracle in the Middle East" which he felt was even more dramatic than past battles. "I wish those Americans who are lagging in their support of the United Jewish Appeal could see with me what is happening in Israel today," he said.
