SCHOOL PROGRAM OPENS SUNDAY AT BETH ISRAEL
Harry Sherman,, principal of the Beth Israel Religious School has announced final arrangements for the. Fall term school opening which takes place Sunday, September 7, at 9:30 a.m.
Many extra-curricular activities will be introduced during the new school year. In addition to the regular classes, which provide a full program of studies in Jewish History, Hebrew Language, Siddur, Jewish customs and current Jewish events, special groups will be organized in drama, Jewish music, arts and crafts, and Israeli dancing. Every pupil can join the group of his choice.
The faculty for the coming term includes: Mrs. M. Nesbitt, Mrs. E. Stosser, Mrs, E. Gelmon, Mrs. B. Kron, Mr. I. Pelman, Mrs. M. Norton, Mr. A. Noterzor and Mr. M. Rothstein.
The whole school program is under the supervision of Rabbi Bert A. -Woythaler. Prof. Sam Lipson is the newly appointed chairman of the Board of Education.
Parents who intend sending their children to the Beth Israel Religious School and have, not yet registered should do so immediately by calling the, Synagogue office. Final registration will be held Sunday morning, September 7.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Pamela Lerner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Lerner has been awarded the L. J. Lefohn $250.00 scholarship for Grade Xn students entering University, and the Dominion-Provincial Student Aid Bursary of $250. She was also presented with a slide rule by the Professional Engineers Association for tying for first place in chemistry. '
