The Memorial was founded in honor of the man who, for many years, made it his personal commitment to contact members of the commimity in order to communicate the privilege it is to help with Ma-ot Ghittim, or "money for wheat". Last year the Jewish Family Service Agency assisted a total of 9J people to celebrate Passover by making it possible to have the Matzah, Kosher meats and foods thatv give special meaning to .Passover. Mrs. Dorothy Bennett, executive director, said that, because of the dismal employment situation and the increased costs of living, she expected many more would need to be included this year and hoped that everyone in the community would share Passover within their ability. She added that the cost of Passover wine is about $1.75, that kosher chicken costs about $4.50 and that a week's supply of matzah for an average family would cost about $4.50. It is estimated that a Seder v/ould cost' ain average family about $7.50. - Referals for Ma-ot Chi11im should be made to the Jewish Family Service Agency, 266-2396. Families who are being referred should know of this so that the Social worker can discuss their individual needs-with them. Donations should be made payable to the J'ewish Family Service Agency, 950 West 41st Ave., Vane. 13, B.C.
