It is very smoky out today. Laat night t v o Stores burned dpwn and one electric shop lp our town. Three buUdlngs were also aoorched. The Pioneer Hardware, Clarke*s and a garage (electric shop). The hotel, poolroom and coffee shop were scorch.- ed by the beat. Tl ie total loss in the fire was esthnatcd at $65,000. Tties managed to save a jtew things but most of it was biuned. The fire start- ed at 9 o'cIock and was put out at about 11 p j n . The. ooal, paint , wood. etc. was In the basement and couldn'<t besaved. After awhile he went up ^ a i n whlle I was throwliig rocks at t h e ' h a w k , thls time he got to the top but the hawk scared h l m again and he came down. Then we left. M y dad said that when the eggs hatched i n the nest we could take the llttle hawks and ralse them. We're getting l l tt le ducks today. The eggs are breaklng now.
