HAMILTON � Hamilton uid Toronto teams split the twin bill in the Junior Basketball League on Jan. <5 as Barons tlumped the hometown Alphas further into the cellar by a 53� 45 margin and Angels vanquished the visiting Mustangs 48�?4 to keep in the running for a playoff spot..
In the curtain-raiser, the Alphas ran into trouble as they had to play shorthanded for a few minutes near the end of the game. Alphas kept pace with the Barons in the first half as.-.the teams were tied 17�17. The Start of the second half again saw the teams battle point for point until a .few''.minutes from the end of the game when the winners pulled away.
The game was marred by the most penalties ever handed out in a game played in Hamilton. Evfery member, of both squads had at least one foul and two players Jfrom . both teams were sent to the showers.
