"Come In Early", Asks YM Dance Committee
A suggestion comes from the Central YMGA Nrisei committee in- regard to the; Nisei p.ajice which they are sponsoring Jo-night, Feb. 3, at ;the CentralY Gym, 40 Gollege St. ;
In short, it's something like this: "The Nisei are notorious in arriving late at a dance. Why not come early and enjoy a FULL
Plan Debate,
MONTREAL The Montr**! Nisei Fellowship and the McGill University's Chinese Student's Club are planning to get together in two events this month.
The first will be the debate on Friday, Feb, 9> at 8 p.m. at the Church of All Nations. The topic is very hunAorous"Ue~ solved that it is better to. marry for money than for love".
On the weekend of Feb.'''1(5-28, the Chinese Student's Club:has invited 'all..'Niseis to join them for a weekend up North, at Mo-rin Heights in the Laurentiatis. Sleigh-riding, skating', fresh air, and lots of fun are all in store fo.r those interested; . .
Anyone interested in details should call -Miss Jeannine Tsu-yuki at GK. 6501.

evening of dancing? The doors swing open at 8 but they ,also have to slnm shut at midnight".
The cause is good too. Proceeds are for the YM-YWCA "Build For Youth" cam paign 'which''' started in Toronto last week.
OF INTEREST TO NISEIS
Recently: there occured among the younger Nisei in . Torohto, tlie sort of behaviour that luakes most of us curl up in shame and disgust. Some of the comments that appeared in .the papers sho\yed insufiicient judgement, according to .cine commentator. In this difference, or gradation, Ires a seed of controversy that should keep us happily arguing for many years to come.
."Enryo'- is a- Japanese trait honored by custonv iomd. practice \vhen conjoined with all the other Japanese habits of behaviour, but "ehryp" when" confused "with, the western habits, can create false impressions that harm more than help. : .
Thus, the question is:-
Are the Nisei hampercxl by the ) behaviour patterns of another country? Then again, people give themselves a certain sot of valuesy but' these, may .not be what others see.
Therefore, we ask:
What do Nisei think :of themselves and what :do others 1 hink of (hem? ;
Thcise are questions among many bthers which will be aired at the meeting on Feb. 11, at the Canadian lyCgiprU Hall, 22 College St., at 7:30 p.m. Come prepared to stand up for your--' self! -/" r .;;:/, ;./; "' ;.-.-' '

SHY FOLKS
.../By Jack Nakamotq
.In the world, brave and bold ... there are folks still shy, Afraidito speak, to say 'hello'.,, and seeming.rather sly.
Some always stay within their shells... while others merely blush, [And others, struggle endlessly ... if forced to talk and" rush. i - - " - . ' ' . ".
\ A iV;\v can't even smile or laugh ... though their hearts tlo long ! To be friends indeed with all.., .to .share and to belong. .
| It is a pity sor.ie can't lookstraight into one's eye?,
 And stand up for their rights or ways... and look toward the skies.
\ So Jet's h.elp one another ... although it may be slight, And understand these shy "folks... in their unhappy plight.
