(Cont'd from Page 2) all the girlt in senior y*r a-flutter. And for a brief while I too, basked in hie high regard. Valentine's Day brought a card enscribed: "To the sweetest girl I know . . . Will you be My Valentine?" But then I discovered that Tony had sent eleven other girls the same card. Now, Mr, Coutts and I are just nodding acquaintances.
And now that I've matured and become wiser, no amount of high-pressure advertising will make me buy Valentines. I learned the hard way that for me, my conception of Valentine Day differs from that of Mr. Coutts of Hallmark Cards Inc. St. Valentine's is for lovers mainly, and I like to leave it that way. I like to leave it as a little, private matter between two people who meet and find that meeting memorable.
My friend interrupted my thought "Well, Cindy, let's go. No point in you sticking around the card counter!'*
And suddenly, I saw the sweetest, naughtiest Coutts Valentine for only 15 cents! My friend caught me looking at it and whispered something which I didn't quite hear because I can be deaf at times. Hereditary, you know!
Anyway, I bought the Valentine-'-for someone extra special!
O.K. You win this round, Mr. Coutts!
