Double S Tile Was ousted from the East Toronto Hockey league playoff picture with a 7-4 defeat at the hands of River Snack Bar Sunday.
A good game of hockey saw the desperate Flyers lacking in sufficient drive to overcome the Snack Bars,.', who were content to play defensively, pressing only on sure opportunities,
River opened with a fast goal when a shot Was deflected off a Nisei stick past Al Kerr within the first minute of play. Major Fukumoto had a clean-cut breakaway immediately after, but his shot wm. wide. A Snack Bar forward broke in alorte on Kerr to make :t 2-0.
Flyers came back minutes later when Roy Kobayashi passed out to the point and Joe Togawa lifted a high shot from the blue-line to beat the River goalie. Togawa, incidentally, played his best game of the season Sunday.
The next goal was the back-breaker for Niseis as Kerr let in a soft shot from the blue-line to make,it 3-1. Flyers attack became aimless with excessive passing that spoiled their scoring opportunities.
Jack Hawkshaw scored one of his four goals for the day to make it 4-1, until Dave Sunohara banged the puck in after a pass from Kobayashi. A roughing session developed here as former Flyer Minarsky and George An-zai tangled, but the refs clamped down, and hockey was resumed.

ed to clear, but seconds after,; Dave Sunohara scored from Ko- j bavashi with Snack Bar one man short. The half ended 5-3. j
Flyers continued on the attack to start the second period, as An- |. zai made a rink-length effort, ; but failed to bulge the netting. It was Mcllwaine's first appearance after about two months oh the injury list.
Next week the two bottom teams, both out of the playoffs, will do battle to close the season. (Zaduk-Williams and Flyers).
