ASSISTANT TO THE ACCOUNTANT GENERAL ACCOUNTING CLERK
Required by the Office of the Ombudsman to assist the Accountant in areas of generalaccounting. Responsibilities willinclude: reconcHほtion of accounts; cash functions; analysing computer input and output for expenditure and payroll; assisting in budget preparations; preparation of financialsはtements; assisting in payroll and accounts payable as required; preparation of cost reports; maintaining inventory reports for office furniture and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Progressively responsible accounting experience; must be able to type; ability to communicate clearly, both or aII》and in writing; good analyticalability; knowledge of government administrative practices and payrollexperience would be an asset. Preference will be given to applicants fluent in a second language.
LOCATION: Toronto.
SALARY: Salary range currently under review.

INVESTIGATORS
The Office of the Ombudsman investigates complaints against Ministries, agencies, boards and commissions of the provincial government. We currently have the following openings:
1.INVESTIGATOR — Correctionaland Psychiatric Services
Emphasis will be on the investigation of complaints from inmates in provincial correctional institutions.
Duties: To attend institutions regularly, interview and refer inmates, interview staff, review documents, gather additional documentary evidence, prepare reports for the review and signature of the Ombudsman and senior staff. Extensive travel throughout the province*
2. INVESTIGATOR — Directorate of Special Services
Emphasis on complaints registered by injured workers against decisions of the Workers' Compensation Board.
Duties: Analyze complaints and carry out investigations including Board officほls, reviewing Board files and obtaining medical and other relevant information; prepare reports for review and signature of the Ombudsman.
QUALIFICATIONS: Acquired knowledge and experience in a related area; proficiency in making oraland vvritlen presentations; initiative; ab出ty to function with minimum supervision; good interpersonal sk川s; tact and judgment viはl;knowledge of investigative procedures; sens"ivity to prob,ems of com-pはin ants. Mrs. Oku ma was born on Jan.12,1874 at Takamatsu on ShikOku. Except for a17-year period, she has lived on Hokkaido, where her husband served as a police chief-Mrs. Oku ma is survived by her 73.year-old daughter-in-law and a 52-year .old grandson.
After Mrs. Okuma's death, Ine Tsugawa,108, became Japan's oldest woman.
