At a祸0tlnd of the NAJC council In Winnipeg, la$t January, rnembpre voted on a rrio"on, carefully worked out,
go ahead with the compensation campaign, while taking In consideration the apparent lact( of consensus In the JC community on the redress Issue.
Members voted to send a letter to Prime Minister Tru-ddau, immediately, outlining two targets:(1)that the JC communはy seek an acknow-. lodgement of the Evacuation and detention Injustices and (2) that the federal government agree to discuss compensation, in general, at a later date, so negotiations cーd be an ongoing process, while the communはy itseけ sets about to getけs own consensus on the issue.
An emergency meeting on redress had to be held in March in Toronto, because NAJC president, Miki, is said

What became of the orIgi. nal motion — no one seems to know, it is said.
But there are people who apparently do know, the Toronto group f的ls.
