Mr. and Mrs. Henry Green, of Los Angeles, Calif., motored home after spending two weeks, during the High Holydays, with her brothers and sisteis, Misses Molly, Ida and Ann Ratner; and Issie and Max Ratner, all of Trans Island Avenue.
Nathan Wolfe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wolfe, Grovehill Place, sailed for England on the Empress of Canada to complete his studies at Oxford University for a Ph.D. degree in economics. He is attending Queen's College there, on a fellowship granted by the Nuffield Foundation; and on an award of the Canadian Social Science Research Bureau.

Mr. and Mrs. S. Solomon and family, of Burlington, Vt., are visiting her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and- Mrs. E. Shalinsky and family, Esplanade Avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Siegel, Royal Avenue, celebrated the bar-mitzvah of their son, Philip, who was called to the Reading of the Law at Shaare Zion Synagogue. He is the brother of Yermie; and of Miss Bernice Siegel. At a kid-dush following the services, Mrs. Siegel received in a black crepe dress, designed with a V-shaped neckline, and. button trimming on the sides of the apron^effect skirt, and had a green velour hat, trimmed with pearl-beading, and rhine-stone accessories. Miss Siegel wore a black velvet off-the-shoulder-styled dress, with a slirrv skirt, a black felt pillbox hat, with a veil, and rhinestone accessories. There was a bar-mitzvah cake, and bouquets of gladioli and chrysanthemums for the table.
'Mr.-and Mrs. Henry Blatt, 5440 Legare Avenue, celebrated the bar-mitzvah of their son, Harvey Michael, who was called to the Reading of the Law at Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue. He is the brother of Constance, Richard, and^Susan; grandeonLof Hsftx.lL*. Zimmerman, Hutchison Street, and the late Morrie Greenstein, of New York; and of Mr. and Mrs. I. Blatt, de Vimy Avenue. At dinner that evening, at the Mount Royal Hotel, three hundred guests were received. The background for the receiving line was an archway adorned with cascades of Sweetheart roses. Mrs. Henry Blatt wore a gown composed of a lilac-shaded satin bodice, with off-the-shoulder neckline, and a full, purple taffeta skirt, with an orchid corsage. Miss Constance Blatt wore an off-the-shoulder net gown of grey and tangerine shades, made with a draped bodice in folds of net, and-a full skirt, composed of alternating layers of the two colors; also a corsage of Sweetheart roses. Susan Blatt wore a navy-blue and- white embroidered organdy drees, with a cluster of Sweetheart roses. Mrs. Zimmerman, the grandmother, wore a blue lace gown, fashioned with a V-shaped neckline, and draped skirt; and Mrs. Blatt, the grandmother, wore a black lace gown; each with an orchid corsage. C. Rosen was a master of ceremonies. The speakers were: Dr. Solomon Frank, Rabbi; Monroe Abbey, Shloime Wiseman, principal of the Jewish People's School; and Harvey, the bar-mitzvah boy.
